A Letter to our Customers from Dr. Erlichman and Dr. Jones

We are excited to announce big changes at AHCC!

    Dear Friends,

I have exciting and yet bittersweet, news to share - I am stepping back from owning AHCC.

Anyone that knows me well, knows I am way too hyper to retire, so I will continue to work at AHCC. The faces of AHCC will remain the same, just someone else will be wearing the "boss" hat, and I will learn to punch a time clock.

Nineteen years ago, I was given the opportunity to purchase Animal Hospital of Chester County from Dr. Dan Rosenberg. He took a big chance on a young, eager veterinarian who had big student loans and was a single parent. I will forever be grateful for that, as well as the confidence placed in me by his clients

(many of whom are still with us!). As the years unfolded, our family grew and in 2004, Dr. Maribeth Shea joined the team. She has been a wonderful asset to the practice, and I am thankful for both our personal and professional relationships.

It has been and continues to be an honor and a privilege to be a part of so many pet's lives both the joyful early days, and yes, the heartbreaking final days. There are so many souls at the Rainbow Bridge with little pieces of my heart. I am grateful for the trust each of you has placed in me in caring for your beloved family members, I don't think I could ever express that enough.

I treasure the relationships and friendships that have developed, and will always hold them close. The time has come though, to turn the reigns over to someone else. I will continue to work at AHCC as will Dr. Shea, and the rest of our dedicated team. We will continue to provide the same kind, loving, compassionate care to our patients and their people that we always have. That's what we do best.

I'm excited to introduce our new owner, Dr. Lauren Jones, who we know quite well, as she worked at AHCC before attending veterinary school. If I had the chance to create my perfect buyer, it would be Lauren. I know I can place the care of our AHCC family in her very capable hands. We all are looking forward to our new adventure together, and we hope all of you are too. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Jones.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you,

    Toby Erlichman, VMD

    Dear New Friends,

Thank you for welcoming me into your lives and continuing to trust AHCC with your pet's health care. I know transitions like this can be difficult, but, as Dr. Erlichman pointed out, everything that makes AHCC great, including the team of Doctors, Technicians, and Support Staff, will stay the same. We hope to add to this well-established team with some new faces as well!

My history with Dr. Erlich man and Dr. Shea goes back to 1998 when my family moved to the Downingtown area. We had the good fortune to live on Dr. Shea's street, and she immediately became our pets' veterinarian. We certainly kept her busy! I even babysat for Dr. Shea occasionally. She was there for us when our pets were happy and healthy puppies and kittens and to hold our hands when we needed to guide our pets to the Rainbow Bridge. It would be an understatement to say that she was instrumental in my career choice.

After Dr. Shea moved to AHCC, we followed her as clients, and met Dr. Erlichman, who graciously took me under her wing and gave me the opportunity to work as a kennel assistant at AHCC while I attended college. I took this opportunity to learn as much as I could from these two wonderful mentors, and to this day, I can remember first encountering some of the more challenging medical conditions I've seen and being introduced to Berners, thanks to Dr. Erlichman.

Following my initial time at AHCC, I attended the University of Pennsylvania, and earned my VMD in 2010. After graduation, I began my career as a veterinarian at Country Companion Animal Hospital in Morgantown, PA. There, I developed my clinical interest in canine reproduction, ultrasound, and geriatric wellness care. In 2015, I purchased Country Companion from its original owners, continuing a 20+ year tradition of providing excellent patient care to the surrounding areas. I'm lucky enough to have an amazing husband who supports and encourages this journey, and works alongside me in operating the business.

I reside in Glenmoore with my husband, Jack, and our three young children Griffin, Charlotte, and Jack Jr. We have two pugs (Jaz and Ace), a French bulldog (Lola), and two cats (Chevy and Simone). Based on my daughter's love for "Finding Dory," I expect it is only a matter of time before we add fish to our family! We are avid Steelers and Phillies fans and also love to travel - our goal is to visit all major league ballparks in our lifetime. We are also both very close to our families, who primarily reside in Chester County. Family is of utmost importance in our lives and we see our coworkers and clients as an extension of family.

I'm so excited to meet everyone and work side by side with the incredible staff at AHCC. As always, we will continue to provide the best quality care for your pets, in the warm, family atmosphere to which you are accustomed.

    Thank you!

    Lauren Jones, VMD
